Mirroria is a body of work revolving around a revisionist myth that uses feminist ideas to transform the current cultural narrative. Referencing existing origin stories and incorporating characteristics of allegories, parables, and fairy tales, this story demands a new perspective. The people of this world take on a varying range of power structures, while costume, language, movement, and gender roles flip the traditionally male centered perspective of mythology. The female protagonist is set with the task of sacrificing herself to reverse the worldview that war, domination, and greed are necessary to run the world. She is the disruptor who possesses the potential to subvert reality and is challenged to go to great lengths to do so. She accepts the mission and in turn becomes the heroine of her world. A metaphor for contemporary society, Mirroria is a new mythology for a modern age of equality.
